An Americanized version of a Mexican classic. Zesty but not hot. Although you can make it that way by adding some hotter ingredients. A family tradition that shows up at most gatherings.
Ingredients:
1 (approx 16 oz) can refried beans
1/2 pkg of taco seasoning
1 pkg hidden valley ranch dressing mixture
8 oz sour cream
1 large tomato peeled and diced
1 medium onion, chopped
4 oz can of chopped green chilies
1 cup shredded lettuce
1-1/2 cup shredded cheddar cheese
Directions:
1. Mix refried beans with taco seasoning.
2. Spread in the bottom of a 12x8x2 inch dish.
3. Mix the chilies and chopped onions and layer on top of bean mixture.
4. Mix Ranch Dressing powder and sour cream. Spread on top of onion layer.
5. Layer lettuce next. Then tomatoes.
6. Finally sprinkle a layer of shredded cheese on top of that. See Photo
7. Cover and chill for an hour.
8. Serve with Nacho Chips.
