Meaty lasagna but with ground turkey
Ingredients:
1 lb ground chicken
3/4 lb italian sausage
1 large onion, chopped
2 garlic cloves, minced
1 tablespoon italian spices
1 (28 ounce) can whole tomatoes, undrained and chopped
1 (12 ounce) can tomato paste
24 ounces ricotta cheese
2 eggs
2 tablespoons parsley
1/2 cup parmesan cheese
1 lb mozzarella cheese, divided
12 lasagna noodles
Directions:
1. Cook ground chicken, Italian sausage, onion and garlic.
2. Add salt and next ingredients; stirring until well mixed. let Simmer 45 min.
3. Cook lasagna noodles according to package directions; drain and set aside.
4. Combine ricotta cheese, eggs, pepper, 2 tablespoons parsley, Parmesan cheese and 1/2 of mozzarella cheese; In lasagna pan, layer noodles, meat sauce, and cheese mixture; repeat.
5. Top off with layer of noodles; sprinkle evenly with remaining mozzarella cheese.
6. Bake at 375 degrees for 30 to 40 minutes, or until cheese mixture is thoroughly melted.
