LADYFINGER LEMON DESSERT This recipe came from an estate sale. I obtained it when I purchased the family collection from the Marcus Estate in Greenville, Texas in 1994.
Ingredients:
12 ounces evaporated milk
3 ounce package ladyfingers split
3 ounce package lemon gelatin
1 cup boiling orange juice
1/2 cup granulated sugar
1/4 cup lemon juice
2 teaspoons grated lemon peel
1 cup whipped cream
Directions:
1. Pour milk into small metal bowl then place mixer beaters in the bowl.
2. Cover and refrigerate 2 hours or overnight.
3. Line side of spring form pan with ladyfingers and set aside.
4. In a large bowl dissolve gelatin in orange juice then stir in sugar, lemon juice and peel.
5. Cool to room temperature then beat milk to soft peaks and fold into gelatin mixture.
6. Pour into spring form pan and refrigerate at least 3 hours.
7. Remove side of pan then serve with whipped cream.
