Japanese style tempura batter for frying vegetables, etc.
Ingredients:
1 cup cake flour
1/4 cup cornstarch
1/2 teaspoon baking powder
1 egg white
1 1/4 cups ice cold water
Directions:
1. In a medium bowl, combine cake flour, cornstarch and baking powder.
2. In a small bowl, mix white white and 1 cup ice cold water.
3. Pour into dry ingredients, leaving batter lumpy and undermixed.
4. If batter becomes too smooth, sprinkle in some extra cake flour.
5. Add extra ice cold water depending on how thick or thin youe desire.
