Kofta Meatballs - Lamb

Another of my kofta recipes, this one is eaten as a starter. Only a few steps to produce an authentic recipe. Although I have given the recipe as a lamb dish you could use beef.
Ingredients:
1 lb ground lamb
1 teaspoon ground ginger
2 tablespoons grated garlic
3 fresh green chilies
1 small onion, chopped
1 egg
1/2 teaspoon turmeric
1 teaspoon garam masala
2 ounces fresh coriander leaves, chopped
6 mint leaves, chopped
1 medium potato, grated
oil (for deep frying)
Directions:
1. Place all of the ingredients EXCEPT FOR THE OIL, in a large bowl and mix to a dough.
2. Divide the mixture and form into balls the size of golf balls.
3. In a deep pan heat the oil and fry the balls till golden.
4. Drain on kitchen paper and serve them hot.
