A great and easy recipe. Also, your potatoes won't turn dark like other recipes. Tastes good too! Also, try my homemade mumbo sauce for great dipping. Ingredients:
2 -3 russet potatoes |
1 quart whole milk |
1 cup all-purpose flour |
2 tablespoons sugar |
1 teaspoon salt |
1 teaspoon black pepper |
3 egg whites |
vegetable oil (for deep frying) |
Directions:
1. Peel skin off potatoes. Clean potatoes. 2. Cut potatoes lengthwise into 1/2 inch or less. 3. Let potatoes soak in milk half hour or longer. 4. Meanwhile, mix the flour, sugar, salt, and pepper. 5. In a separate bowl, whisk the egg whites until bubbly. 6. Dip potatoes into egg whites, then into flour mixture. 7. Deep fry a few potatoes at a time for 5-6 minutes. 8. Drain access grease from potatoes when done. 9. Serve hot. |
