Kays Texas Pecan Pie

My mom's cousin Kay sent this to me when I sent out an APB for Pecan Pie to my relatives. This was judged Best Over-all at Fort Bend County Wide Texas Pecan Show, twice!
Ingredients:
1 10-inch deep dish pie crust
5 eggs
3 tbs melted butter
1/2 cup white sugar (again, i use castor sugar)
1 1/4 cup white corn syrup
1 tsp vanilla
1/4 tsp salt (optional)
3 tbs flour
2 cups pecan halves
Directions:
1. Beat eggs lightly
2. Add butter, sugar, syrup vanilla flour and pecans
3. Pour into pie shell.
4. Bake at 350 for 40 minutes or until center is soft, but not quite set. It will set as it cools.
