Katie's Shortbread Cookies

This recipe is contrived from Lennie's Special Shortbread, which can be found here on RecipeZaar (Lennie's Special Shortbread), altered with the help of Ms. Betty Crocker. :)
Ingredients:
1 1/2 cups butter
1/2 cup powdered sugar
3 1/2 cups flour
1 teaspoon vanilla
Directions:
1. Preheat oven to 350°F.
2. Cream butter and sugar together, scraping sides with spatula to get it well-mixed.
3. Add flour and vanilla - you may still need to scrape the sides. (It may not stick together completely, but that's okay!).
4. Roll out dough to 1/4- to 1/2-inch thick, and cut into cookie shapes.
5. Transfer cookies onto an ungreased cookie sheet-I recommend putting them on parchment paper.
6. Bake at 350°F for 11-14 minutes, watching so your cookies don't burn!
7. Cool on wire rack, and store in an airtight container when cooled.
8. *** FOR FUN! I melted down some chocolate and dipped the cookies in it-they made delicious and festive Christmas cookies!
