Servings: 1
Ingredients:
0.25 whole(s) asian pear
2 pound(s) beef
0.5 teaspoon(s) black pepper
2 tablespoon(s) corn syrup
2 teaspoon(s) minced garlic
0.5 wheel(s) onion
0.5 teaspoon(s) sesame oil
0.5 teaspoon(s) sesame seeds
5 tablespoon(s) soda
0.5 cup(s) soy sauce
4 tablespoon(s) sugar
Directions:
1. Dump the meat into a bowl of cold water and wash away the blood from the meat. After thoroughly cleaning the meat, pour the water out. Repeat if necessary.
2. Cut out the fatty portions from the meat.
3. Flatten the meat using a meat hammer. Flip the meat and continue to flatten with meat hammer. Repeat 2-3 times. (You can improvise with other tools if you do not have a meat hammer.)
4. Sprinkle a little bit of black pepper on the meat. (Note: Not too much! We will be adding more flavors later).
5. Grind the pear and onion together to create a thick paste. You can do this in a mixer, but don't do it until it becomes too liquid-y. It should be in between the solid and liquid states.
6. Prepare the marinade in a separate bowl with the soy sauce, soda, Asian pear and onion mixture, sugar, corn syrup, minced garlic. (Note: the soda and the Asian pear are the special ingredients! They help make the meat juicier and even more tender!)
7. Pour the marinade over the meat in a container. Marinate the meat overnight or for at least an hour. (TIP: the meat becomes more tender when marinated for a longer time)
8. minutes before putting it on the grill, add and rub the meat with sesame oil.
9. Sprinkle the sesame seeds.
10. Grill the meat over a charcoal fire (like in Korean restaurants!) or simply on a frying pan.
