Ingredients:
1 cup lard
1/4 cup sugar
2 eggs, beaten
1 3/4 cups cornmeal
1 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
2 tablespoons baking powder
1 teaspoon salt
1 1/4 cups milk
Directions:
1. Combine lard and sugar, beating well. Add eggs; beat well. Sift together cornmeal, flour, baking powder, and salt. Add to creamed mixture alternately with milk, beginning and ending with flour mixture.
2. Spoon batter into a greased 13- x 9- x 2-inch baking pan. Bake at 450° for 25 minutes or until golden brown.
