I tried a few different recipes and each one fell flat for me. They were just missing something. So I started experimenting with some common ingredients found in crabmeat rangoons. Obviously I didn't reinvent the wheel but just adapted already known recipes to my liking. Read more . I'll put up pictures later. I made these at 2 am this morning and didn't feel like taking pictures.
Ingredients:
6 oz. can of crab meat
6 oz. cream cheese, room temperature
2 scallion, thinly sliced
1/4 tsp garlic powder
few dashes worcestershire sauce
1 tsp. sesame oil
2 tsp. soy sauce
12 wonton wrappers
oil for frying
small bowl of water
Directions:
1. Mix all ingredients together in a small bowl EXCEPT wonton wrappers and oil and water.
2. Heat oil to 350 degrees.
3. Meanwhile lay Wonton wrapper on a flat dry surface with a corner facing you. It should look like a diamond.
4. Place 1 tsp give or take in the center of the wonton. Moisten edges of wonton with water. Fold into shape of triangle by folding over and pressing the bottom corner of wonton to the top corner. Make sure you press all the edges together so your filling doesn’t leak during the frying process.
5. Fry in oil that is about 2 inches deep on each side 1-2 minutes or until light golden brown.
6. Drain on paper towel and enjoy!
