A more flavorful spoof of the original Buffalo Wings which were originally created in Buffalo, New York. This recipe makes a nice tasty wing not a smoking HOT wing. However, you may adjust the heat flavor of the wings by adding more Tabasco, cayenne pepper, and etc.
Ingredients:
2 1/2 lbs chicken wings, chicken wings, cut up two pieces from each wing with the tips discarded
1/2 cup frank's red hot sauce
1/3 cup salted butter, melted
1 teaspoon garlic powder
1 teaspoon onion powder
1 teaspoon brown sugar
1 teaspoon pineapple juice
3 dashes tabasco sauce
1/2 teaspoon ground cayenne pepper
4 stalks celery
4 medium carrots
1 cup blue cheese dressing
Directions:
1. Cut up wings, Rinse wings thoroughly and pat dry.
2. Heat oil in large skillet to 375°F using thermometer.
3. Fry wings in batches to ensure they don’t stick together. This should take about 6-8 minutes.
4. Melt butter and add all ingredients. Adjusting Tabasco and cayenne pepper to taste for desired hotness.
5. Place cooked wings on paper towel and pat excess oil off the wing.
6. Hold wings already cooked in warming oven (200°F).
7. Take a “batch” of wings and dip in wing sauce.
8. Shake excess wing sauce off and place back in oil for one – two minutes. You will see the wing sauce caramelize to the wing.
