This is one of the dishes that Japanese restaurants always have in their menu. It's a deep fried pork cutlet. Goes well with warm rice and tonkatsu sauce. I normally use store-bought tonkatsu sauce, but you can make the sauce at home, too. Read more . I will post the Tonkatsu Sauce > tonkatsu sauce in a different recipe.
Ingredients:
4 pork chops
1/2 tsp salt
1/4 tsp pepper
1/4 cup flour
2 eggs (beaten)
1/2 cup panko bread crumbs (japanese bread crumbs)
canola oil for frying
Directions:
1. Trim the fatty part of porks, if there is any (for a healthier option).
2. Sprinkle salt and pepper on the porks.
3. Roll porks lightly on flour until coated.
4. Dip the pork sin beaten egg.
5. Roll porks sonto the bread crumbs.
6. Fry the porks in heated oiluntil it turns brown (make sure oil is hot)
7. Turn over the porks and fry them a few more minutes.
8. Take out the porks and put them on a paper towel to drain the oil.
9. Slice porks into smaller pieces.
10. Serve porks with warm rice and tonkatsu sauce for dipping (see my recipe for homemade tonkatsu sauce)
