January's Comfort Cake

From Women of the Harvest Magazine, March 2005 Kind of like brownies but not overly sweet.
Ingredients:
1 cup quick oats
1 1/2 cups boiling water
1/2 cup margarine
1 cup brown sugar
1 cup white sugar
3 eggs
1 3/4 cups flour (plus 2 tbsp if in europe)
1 teaspoon salt
2 tablespoons cocoa
1 teaspoon baking soda
1 teaspoon vanilla
1 cup chocolate chips
1 cup chopped nuts
Directions:
1. In large bowl, mix oatmeal, water and margarine and let stand for 10 minutes.
2. Add sugars, eggs and vanilla.
3. Add dry ingredients, saving some chocolate chips and nuts to sprinkle on top of the cake.
4. Bake at 350 degrees for 40-50 minutes in at 9x13 greased and floured pan.
