Jack Daniel's Spectacular Sauce

Found in the Jack Daniel's Spirit of Tennessee Cookbook. It says this is for chicken, but since it uses beef broth, I might try it on beef.
Ingredients:
1/2 garlic clove
2 tablespoons butter
2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
1 cup beef broth
1 tablespoon fresh parsley, chopped or 1/2 teaspoon dried parsley
2 cups sliced fresh mushrooms
2 green onions, chopped
1 tablespoon butter
1/4 cup jack daniels whiskey
Directions:
1. Rub saucepan with garlic; discard garlic.
2. Melt two tablespoons butter; stir in flour.
3. Slowly add broth, stirring constantly.
4. Add parsley; cook until thickened, then set aside.
5. Sauté mushrooms and onion in one tablespoon butter until tender.
6. Add the Jack Daniel's Whiskey and the thickened broth.
7. Simmer several minutes over low heat.
