Steam does not come out of your ears! Your sinuses do not open in a flood! (just a little clearing :)) And say goodbye to Heartburn! It's a definite comfort food for a cold Autumn or Winter's day. It's the chili recipe I grew up with. I know many think the spicier the better. I guess I'm just not one of those people. Too much spice and I reach for Tums :( BTW In my opinion, the V-8 juice is the better choice.
Ingredients:
2 lbs ground beef
1 small onion, cubed
1 can tomato soup
1 can water
2 cans chili beans, with sauce (mild or hot)
1 cup v8 vegetable juice or 1 cup tomato juice
1 can diced tomatoes or 1 can chopped tomatoes or 1 can stewed tomatoes
salt and pepper
Directions:
1. Brown beef and onions.
2. Add rest of ingredients.
3. Simmer 20 minutes.
4. NOTE: Tastes better the next day.
5. The ingredients have time to meld together.
