Italian Style Baked Beans |

My mom fixed these for the Christmas and I had to have her make another batch the next day when my sister ate the last. Cannellini beans are Italian white kidney beans. Ingredients:
6 ounces bacon, chopped |
2 onions, chopped |
4 garlic cloves, chopped |
1 cup dark beer |
1 cup tomato sauce |
1/3 cup dark brown sugar |
1/4 cup balsamic vinegar |
3 tablespoons light molasses |
6 teaspoons dijon mustard |
3/4 teaspoon salt |
1/2 teaspoon black pepper |
4 (15 ounce) cans cannellini beans, drained |
Directions:
1. Preheat oven to 450 degrees. 2. Cook bacon in a heavy oven-safe pot over medium heat until crisp, about 8 minutes. 3. Add onions and garlic and saute until onions are translucent, about 5 minutes. 4. Mix in remaining ingredients and bring to a simmer. 5. Transfer to oven and bake, uncovered, until the bean mixture bubbles and thickens slightly, about 45 minutes, stirring occasionally. |
