Italian Sausage With Bow Tie Pasta

Ingredients:
1 (16 ounce) package bow tie pasta
1 lb bulk italian sausage
1/2 cup chopped onion
1/4 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes
1 1/2 teaspoons minced garlic
2 (14 1/2 ounce) cans italian stewed tomatoes, drained and chopped
1 1/2 cups heavy whipping cream
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon dried basil
sheredded parmesan cheese (for garnish)
Directions:
1. Cook the pasta according to package directions.
2. In a large saucepan, cook sausage, onion, and pepper flakes over medium heat for 4-5 minutes, or until meat is no longer pink.
3. Add garlic, cook for 1 minute, and drain.
4. Stir in the tomatoes, cream, salt, and basil, and bring to a boil over medium heat.
5. Reduce heat, simmer uncovered for 6-8 minutes or until thickened, stirring occasionally.
6. Drain pasta, toss with sausage mizture, and garnish with parmesan cheese.
