My husband is not a meatloaf fan, but when I tried this recipe, he thought it was wonderful and ask me to make it again the following week.
Ingredients:
2-1/2 pounds lean ground beef
two links johnson italian sausage, about 1/2 pound remove casing.
three eggs large
one 5.5 ounce can tomato juice.
one five oz can evaporated milk.
1 cup progresso italian style bread crumbs
1 cup chopped onion
1 cup chopped celery
3/4 cup green bell pepper and
3/4 cup chopped fresh basil
1 teaspoon each: black pepper -season salt-garlic powder-italians seasoning
1/2 cup shredded fresh parmesan cheese
topping
1/2 cup ketchup-1/2 cup brown sugar, packed - 1 teaspoon brown mustard
Directions:
1. Heat oven 400°line A 13X9-inch baking dish with foil
2. In a large bowl, combine all ingredients. Mix well. I use my hands. Shape meat in the prepared pan into a long loaf shape; pour on topping. Bake uncovered 1 hour. Don't overcook... It will dry your meat loaf out. Allow meatloaf to rest 30 minutes before slicing.
