Ingredients:
1 lb ground beef
1/2 cup dried bread crumbs
1 clove garlic, minced
2 tbsp minced parsley
1 tbsp basil, crumbled
1 egg, lightly beaten
1/2 tsp salt
1/4 tsp freshly ground pepper
2 tbsp oil
4 cups tomato sauce
1/2 lb grated parmesan cheese
**note: i would suggest using my homemade tomato sauce recipe for the tomato sauce! it's my grandmother's recipe and it is absolutely delicious
Directions:
1. Combine the beef, breadcrumbs, garlic, parsley, basil, egg, salt, and pepper.
2. Mix thoroughly and shape into balls 1 1/2 inches in diameter.
3. Melt the oil in a saucepan. Brown the meatballs lightly on all sides; drain off the fat.
4. Add tomato sauce, cover, and simmer 40 minutes to an hour.
5. **NOTE: Great served over spaghetti or as a side for almost any other Italian pasta dish!
