This is a simpletea cake that is great with tea or coffee... its so light it can double as a shortcake with fruits.... I tried it with strawberries and it was wonderful....I got this recipe off the Internet several months ago and Ive made it several times. Read more ... My husband loves it
Ingredients:
1/2 cup butter softened
1 cup white sugar
2 eggs
1 1/2 teaspoons vanilla flavoring
1 3/4 cups of all purposr flour
2 teaspoons baking powder
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 cup of milk
1/4 confectioners sugar for dusting
Directions:
1. Preheat over to 350 degrees F
2. Grease and flour 9 inch round pan
3. In a medium bowl cream together butter, sugar until light and fluffy
4. Beat in the eggs next one at a time
5. Stir in vanilla
6. next combine flour, baking powder, and salt, stir into batter
7. alternating with the milk
8. If the batter is stiff add just a little more milk.
9. Spread batter evenly into pan
10. Bake for 30 to 35 minutes
11. cool in pan on wire rack then turn out onto serving plate
12. dust with powdered sugar lightly
