This classic Italian salad is extremely easy to make. To ensure good flavor, get the best and freshest ingredients you can. Serve with crusty bread to soak up the juices!
Ingredients:
8 oz ball of fresh mozzarella
2 ripe medium tomatoes
1/4 c basil leaves (packed)
3 tbsp olive oil
1 tbsp balsamic vinegar
salt and freshly ground pepper to taste
Directions:
1. Slice the mozzarella and tomatoes 1/8 -1/4 thick.
2. On a plate, alternate layers of mozzarella and tomato to form a circle.
3. With a pair of scissors, cut basil into shreds. Scatter the shreds over the plate.
4. Drizzle the plate with olive oil and vinegar.
5. Season with salt and pepper.
