Indian Style Green Beans And Carrots

This recipe came from an estate sale. I obtained it when I purchased the family collection from the Marcus Estate in Greenville, Texas in 1994.
Ingredients:
3/4 pound fresh green beans cut into 3/4 pieces
2 teaspoons mustard seed
1 teaspoon ground coriander
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon ground ginger
1/4 teaspoon ground cumin
2 medium carrots sliced
1 small white onion cut into thin wedges
2 teaspoons olive oil
1 tablespoon lemon juice
Directions:
1. In large saucepan with a steamer rack steam beans over boiling water covered for 10 minutes.
2. Meanwhile stir together mustard seed, coriander, salt, ginger and cumin then set aside.
3. Add carrots and onion to beans them steam 10 minutes.
4. Meanwhile heat oil in medium skillet then cook spice mixture over medium heat until seeds pop.
5. Stir in hot vegetables and lemon juice then toss to mix and heat through then serve while hot.
