Impromptu Sliced Baked Potatoes

Last evening the doorbell rang. OH! Two more for dinner! I have to admit. We were going to be having meager, left overs, nothing special. A quick change was needed. I brainstormed and made these half in the microwave and half in the oven. Read more . While making salad and condiments and switching things. Luckily, they worked out very well:)
Ingredients:
2 large russet baking potatoes sliced thinly not right through.
2 or 3 slices of thinly sliced. onion cheddar cheese (use whatever you have on hand)
melted butter to brush on top.
i put a bowl out with a sour cream and chive mixture. optional
Directions:
1. Wash potatoes very well and place on cutting board. Slice thinly but not quite through the potatoes.
2. Place them in microwave on high for approximately 7 or 8 minutes.
3. Remove them from the microwave and add sliced cheese between, some slices. Then brushed the top with butter.
4. Place them in foil and bake in oven at 350F for 10 minutes.
5. They saved the day in no time!
6. YOU CAN BAKE THESE for an hour at 350F
