~ Not Ichy...Maybe a little,Sticky ~
Ingredients:
now...irving,you can't fall asleep on this one
'first of all
take your very best white bread recipe...and...your very best whole-wheat bread recipe and baker yer' up.
you'll know when it's done when you tap it...and it...sounds hollow
' you will need in addition to
3 oz. cream cheese
1 tablespoons farm fresh milk
1 teaspoon worcestershire sauce
4 slices bacon...fried up nice and crisp, then crumbled
sweet 'home-made' pumpkin butter...not the manufactured kind, that comes out on an assembly line.
Directions:
1. ~ Putting it all together ~
2. Now putting this together, might make you go crazy and LOSE YOUR HEAD...
3. You may DREAD this BREAD and wish you were DEAD,but if you work feverishly, you can put all the peices together of this JIGSAW AND SOLVE THE PUZZLE.
4. Now CHOP,CHOP,get busy, round it all up,slather on the Cream Cheese,Pumpkin Spread,assemble...and CALL IT DONE.
5. Cut your two breads in slices, then with a 2 inch cookie cutter, cut the rounds.
6. Spread half the rounds...(equal white bread and equal whole wheat bread) with part cream cheese mixture and with part sweet pumpkin butter.
7. Now here is where you may go a little nuts and lose you head, but hang in there.
8. Divide remaining rounds in 3 groups, each with an equal number of light bread and wheat bread rounds.
9. Use one group each for Double Rounds...Stripes...and CHECKERBOARDS...You know, like Chess.
10. Double Rounds: With hole of doughnut cutter, cut tiny circles from center of rounds.
11. Fit the tiny whole wheat circles in the holes of the large white ones and vice versa.
12. STRIPES: You know...like the ones you would be wearing...cuz' this is a killer to make.
13. Cut rounds in three strips, making center strips widest.
14. Fit large white strip between two smaller whole wheat strips and vice versa.
15. Hold this all together with a bit of cream cheese and pumpkin butter.
16. CHECKERBOARDS: You know...Check and Check Mate
17. Cut rounds in fourths, make checkerboards of white and whole wheat.
18. Spread small amount of cheese and pumpkin on edges to hold together.
19. JIGSAW: You know...like a puzzle
20. Bottom deck is spread with cheese bacon mixture.
21. For the designed top,fit together circles, strips,or triangles of contrasting bread.
22. Note: For good-looking jigsaw sandwiches with smooth edges, freeze bread first, then cut while frozen.
23. ~ No lopping off of any heads here...it's just a recipe...maybe a little time consuming and maybe a little complicated, but, looks pretty impressive on a plate....Now it's time to Tea Off.
24. Pour Bigelow Constant Comment in your best China Tea Cup,pass the Jigsaw, deal the cards, and let's play.~
