Iced Raisin Biscuits

Great blend of spices - warm out of the oven - perfection!
Ingredients:
2 cups all-purpose flour
1 tbs sugar
3 tsp baking powder
1 tsp cinnamon
1/2 tsp salt
1/8 tsp nutmeg
1/2 cup cold butter, cubed
1/3 cup raisins
1/2 cup milk
3 tbs maple syrup
icing
1/2 cup powdered sugar
1/8 tsp vanilla
2 1/4 tsp milk
Directions:
1. In a large bowl, combine the first 6 ingredients. Cut in butter until mixture resembles coarse crumbs. Add raisins. In a small bowl, combine milk and syrup; stir into the crumb mixture just until moistened.
2. Turn onto a lightly floured surface; knead 8-10 times. pat or roll out to 1/2 thickness; cut with a floured 2 1/2 biscuit cutter.
3. Place biscuits 1 apart on an ungreased baking sheet. Bake at 450 for 12-15 minutes or until golden brown.
4. Meanwhile, combine the powdered sugar, vanilla and enough milk to achieve the desired consistency to drizzle over the warm biscuits.
