Ice Cream Sunday Dessert

Nice to have on hand durning the hot summer months.
Ingredients:
12 oz chocolate chips
12 oz can evaporated milk
1/t teaspoon salt
1 12oz box vanilla wafers, crushed
1/2 cup margarine melted
2 quarts vanilla ice cream softened
Directions:
1. In saucepan over meduim heat melt chips with , with milk n salt.
2. Cook n stir until thickened about 25 minutes.
3. Remove from heat and set aside.
4. Combine wafer crumbs n n margarine, set aside 1 cup.
5. Press remaining crumb mixture in a 13x9 cake pan.Chill for 10-15 minutes in freezer.
6. Pour chocolateover crumbs and cover n freeze 20-25 minutes.
7. Slice ice cream n place on top of chocolate, spread to cover completely.
8. Sprinkle with remaining crumbs.
9. Freeze at least 2 hours.
10. I sometimes use peanutbutter chips, usually a pack n half, instead of chocolate. n make a chocolate cookie crust and chocolate ice cream.
