Hummus is a middle eastern food that is a sauce or dip. It is a vegetarian delight made from garbanzo beans and olive oil. It is very nutritious. It's great with crackers, pita bread, cucumber slices, carrots, and the like. This recipe came off of the can of garbanzo beans from the grocery store.
Ingredients:
15 ounces garbanzo beans
2 teaspoons minced garlic cloves
4 teaspoons olive oil
4 teaspoons lemon juice
1/2 teaspoon salt
Directions:
1. Drain and rinse beans.
2. In a blender puree all of the ingredients until smooth. The recipe calls for 4tsp of lemon juice . I just used all of the juice from a squeezed lemon. Also I used the kind of garlic that comes minced in a jar from the grocery. Add a little water if necessary. Serve and enjoy!
