family pleaser - very chocolate/sweet dessert. cake and sauce bake in the same pan
Ingredients:
1 cup unbleached flour
3/4 cup splenda
2 tablespoons cocoa
2 teaspoons baking powder
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/2 cup 1% milk
2 tablespoons vegetable oil
1 cup finely chopped nuts
1 cup brown sugar
1/4 cup cocoa
1 3/4 cups hot water
Directions:
1. heat oven to 350. Measure flour, sugar (splenda substitute), 2 tablespoons cocoa, baking powder and salt into baking pan (9x9x2). Blend in milk and vegetable oil; stir in nuts. Stir together brown sugar and 1/4 cup cocoa; sprinkle over batter. Pour hot water over batter.
2. Bake 45 minutes. While hot, cut into squares; invert each onto dessert plate and spoon sauce over each serving. If desired, serve with sweetened whipped cream (or ice cream).
