Ingredients:
2 pound(s) ground beef
1 pound(s) italian sausage
3 tablespoon(s) salt
3/4 teaspoon(s) red pepper
1/3 cup(s) bread crumbs
3 eggs beaten
1/4 cup(s) grated parmesan cheese
1 can(s) 28 oz tomatoe puree
1 can(s) water
2 teaspoon(s) tomato paste
1/4 teaspoon(s) dried basil
2 teaspoon(s) dried oregano
1/4 teaspoon(s) salt
red pepper
italian bread/buns
Directions:
1. combine ground beef,sausage, salt, red pepper, cracker crumbs, black pepper, eggs and 1/4 cup parmesan cheese, form patties and cook over medium high heat until done.
2. combine tomato puree, water, tomato paste, basil,oregano, salt and red pepper pour sauce over patties and simmer slowly for 1 to 1 1/2 hours.
3. Serve on bread or bun with extra sauce and parmesan cheese.
4. Note: may want to dial back on the salt, 3 Tablespoons is a bit much
