Hot And Spicy Cornbread

I have made this more times than I can admit. I actually made it tonight with a pot of pinto beans and chipotle flank steak. Decided to post since it is one of my faves. Enjoy
Ingredients:
1 pound hot breakfast sausage
2/3 cup milk
3 green onions with tops chopped
1/2 cup thick and chunky salsa
1-1/2 cup biscuit mix
1 egg slightly beaten
1 cup cornmeal
2 teaspoons hot pepper sauce
1 cup grated cheddar cheese
1 jalapeno pepper seeded and chopped
Directions:
1. Preheat oven to 400.
2. Crumble sausage into skillet then add onions and cook over medium heat until sausage is brown.
3. Drain off any drippings then place sausage mixture in large bowl and add remaining ingredients.
4. Mixing well with wooden spoon then spread evenly into greased rectangular baking dish.
5. Bake 20 minutes then cool on wire rack 20 minutes before cutting into squares.
6. Serve warm or at room temperature.
