Honey Whole Wheat Bread

Ingredients:

  • combine in mixer bowl
  • 1 tbsp salt
  • 2 packages dry yeast
  • heat in saucepan until warm
  • 3 cups water
  • 1/2 cup honey
  • 2 tbsp oil
  • beat with an electric mixer for 3 minutes
  • 1 additional cup of whole wheat flour
  • 4-4-1/2 unbleaced white flour
  • knead 5 minutes, using additional white flour if necessary
  • place in greased bowl turn over, let rise until doubled in bulk
  • punch down after doubled
  • divide dough in half
  • shape into loaf
  • place into greased 9 x 5 bread pans
  • cover and let rise 40-45 minutes

Directions:

  1. TO KNEAD (My way :)
  2. Turn dough onto floured board
  3. PUSH and PULL and FLIP sides over and PUSH with palms of hands, working just a little flour into the dough each time
  4. Dough will begin to feel less sticky
  5. Pick up the dough, and slap it a couple of times, and knead a little more, adding only a LITTLE flour each time
  6. Soon, the dough will begin to look stretchy and a little silky and smooth
  7. GREAT FOR YOUR MUSCLES. GREAT EXERCISE. AND A REAL
  8. GREAT STRESS RELIEVER!
