Honey and Fig Cake

Had some dried figs over and wondered what I could make of it. Ran through my recipes, tweaked a bit and this is the result.
Ingredients:
6 large eggs
1 cup sugar
2 tablespoons applesauce
1 cup honey
1 teaspoon allspice
1 teaspoon cinnamon
1/4 teaspoon ground cloves
3 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
1 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
1 teaspoon baking soda
1 cup finely chopped dried fig
1/2 cup finely chopped nuts (optional)
Directions:
1. Preheat the oven to 300°F.
2. Grease and flour 2 loaf pans.
3. In a large bowl, mix eggs, sugar, honey and apple sauce.
4. Sieve flour, baking powder, baking soda and spices.
5. Stir in flour mix to egg mix.
6. Fold in figs and nuts (if using).
7. Pour batter into the prepared pans.
8. Bake for 1 hour or until a skewer inserted comes out clean.
9. Let cool completely before slicing.
