Homemade Snickers Candy

4 of 10 of my Christmas candies. Back in the days that I worked at the grocery store, the lady that took care of the deli counter would make these around Christmas time. They are so good and are very similar to Snickers bars, but only better! Read more ! A small piece goes a long way though; they're very rich!
Ingredients:
base layer
1 c. mile chocolate chips
1/4 c. butterscotch chips
1/4 c. creamy peanut butter
filling
1/4 c. butter or margarine
1 c. sugar
1/4 c. evaporated milk
1 1/2 c. marshmallow creme
1/4 c. creamy peanut butter
1 tsp. vanilla extract
1/2 - 1 c. cocktail peanuts (to taste)
caramel layer
1 pkg. (14 oz.) caramels (have your kids unwrap them for you - tee hee!)
1/4 c. whipping (heavy) cream
top layer
1 c. milk chocolate chips
1/4 c. butterscotch chips
1/4 c. creamy peanut butter
Directions:
1. ***Cook time includes chill time***
2. Lightly grease a 13 x 9 x 2 inch baking dish.
3. Combine Base Layer ingredients in small saucepan; stir over low heat until melted and smooth. Spread into prepared pan; refrigerate until set.
4. For Filling, melt butter in saucepan; add sugar and milk. Bring to a boil and stir 5 minutes. Remove from heat and stir in marshmallow creme, peanut butter, vanilla, and peanuts. Spread over first layer and chill again until set.
5. To make the Caramel Layer, combine caramels and heavy cream in saucepan. Stir over low heat until melted and smooth. Spread over filling and chill again.
6. In another saucepan, melt Top Layer ingredients, stirring over low heat until melted and smooth. Pour over caramel layer and chill at least 1 hour before cutting into pieces. Cut into 1 inch squares; store in refrigerator.
