Another recipe from the 1980 version of the Grace Evangelical Congregational Church cookbook from Muir, Pennsylvania that was given to me by my Nana when I became an adult. This recipe was submitted by Pearl Evans. She didn't put a cooking time. So, I am guessing on that but it sounds like something you just have to watch until it is the thickness you wish it to be.
Ingredients:
3 quarts tomato juice
1 pint sugar
1/2 pint vinegar
4 teaspoons salt
2 teaspoons cinnamon
1/4 teaspoon black pepper
1/2 teaspoon dry mustard
1/4 teaspoon red pepper
1/2 teaspoon clove
Directions:
1. Mix all ingredients in large kettle or pot.
2. Cook until desired thickness.
3. Bottle and seal.
