Homemade Coconut-pecan Frosting

This is a traditional german chocolate cake frosting.
Ingredients:
1 c.evaporated milk
1 c.sugar
2 egg yolks,slightly beaten
1/2 c.butter
1 tsp.vanilla
1 1/3 c.flaked coconut
1 c.chopped pecans
Directions:
1. In a saucepan,mix the milk,sugar,egg yolks,butter and vanilla.
2. Cook over medium heat until thickened,approx 12 minutes.
3. Stir in coconut and pecans.
4. Cook until thick enough to spread,beating occasionally.
5. *This will fill and frost up to a 9 3 layered cake.
