Homemade Chicken Soup

This is what our boys get when they have a cold - and, well. . .so does their Daddy. Smilin' . . .It is also good served before a light meal or AS a light meal with a side salad.
Ingredients:
3-lb chicken
10-cups water
5 ribs celery, chopped an destringed
salt and pepper eto taste
1 onions, peeled and quartered
8 red potatoes, peeled and quartered
1-cup frozen green peas
accent
Directions:
1. Place chicken in a large pot with water, onions, celery and potatoes.
2. Cover and simmer until chicken is done - about 45 minutes to an hour.
3. Remove chicken and debone.
4. Return to pot and simmer for 10 additional minutes, adding peas.
5. NOTE: Really good served with garlic bread sticks and a leafy green side salad, if you're not using it for medicinal purposes.
