Holiday Raisin Shortbread Bars

A holiday classic minus the rum. They are so yummy, you will not miss it.
Ingredients:
2 cups all-purpose flour
1/4 teaspoon baking powder
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon nutmeg
1/2 lb butter
1/2 cup powdered sugar
1 cup raisins (1/4 box)
1/2 cup water
Directions:
1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
2. Combine water and raisins in a small saucepan. Bring to a boil and continue to boil for about 5 minutes. Drain and set aside.
3. Spray 8 inch square baking dish with 'bakers spray'. (Non-stick spray with flour in it).
4. Combine all dry ingredients except for sugar. Set aside.
5. With hand-held mixer beat sugar and room temperature butter until creamed. Slowly add, in 3 batches, the dry mixture. Fold in cooled raisins.
6. Pat dough into baking dish and bake for about 20 minutes or until sides are golden and toothpick comes out clean.
7. Cool and cut into bars. They are very yummy eaten warm.
