Holiday Butter Cake

This is a rich, delicious cake that is a great addition to a holiday dessert table!
Ingredients:
3 cups flour
2 cups sugar
1 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon baking powder
1/2 teaspooon baking soda
1 cup buttermilk
1 cup butter, softened
2 teaspoons rum or vanilla extract
4 eggs
butter sauce
3/4 cup sugar
1/3 cup butter
3 tablespoons water
1-2 teaspoons rum or vanilla extract
powdered sugar for garnish
Directions:
1. Preheat oven to 325.
2. Generously grease and lightly flour 12 cup Bundt pan.
3. In large bowl, blend all cake ingredients at low speed until moistened.
4. Beat 3 minutes at medium speed.
5. Pour batter into prepared pan.
6. Bake for 55-70 minutes until toothpick inserted comes out clean.
7. In small sacepan over low heat, combine all sauce ingredients, stirring occasionally until butter melts. DO NOT BOIL.
8. Using long tined fork, pierce cake 10 - 12 times.
9. Slowly pour hot sauce over cake.
10. Remove cake from pan immediately after sauce has been absorbed, 5-10 minutes.
11. Just before serving, dust top with powdered sugar.
