Hoisin and Peanut Asian Style Dipping Sauce

An Asian style dipping sauce that goes well with steamed dim-sum, spring rolls or skewer/kebabs. For a gluten-free version use gluten free hoisin and fish sauce. (In Australia Changs brand Hoisin is currently gluten-free.)
Ingredients:
3 teaspoons caster sugar
1 tablespoon rice vinegar
1/4 cup water
1/4 cup hoisin sauce
1 teaspoon peanut oil or 1 teaspoon vegetable oil
1 tablespoon peanuts, finely chopped
Directions:
1. Combine the caster sugar, rice vinegar and water in a small saucepan.
2. Stir over low heat until the sugar dissolves.
3. Add the hoisin sauce, peanut oil or vegetable oil, and chopped peanuts.
4. Stir thoroughly.
