Make extra of this one!!! Just like an Italian hoagie...but it's in a bowl! Great for football parties or whatever your favorite sporting event may be.
Ingredients:
1/2 pound deli ham, sliced
1/2 pound genoa salami, sliced
1/2 pound american cheese, small cubes
1 head of iceberg lettuce
3 tomatoes, small dice
1 medium onion, minced
1 1/2 cups mayonnaise
2 tablespoons oregano
olive oil
italian seasoning
1 loaf of french-type baguette bread, sliced in 1/2 inch slices
Directions:
1. The easiest way to cut the meats is to roll them up like a jelly roll, thinly slicing them and then slicing again into half-moon shaped pieces.
2. In a bowl, mix mayonnaise an oregano.
3. Add meats and small-cubed cheese.
4. Add the onion and mix thoroughly.
5. Refrigerate about 30 minutes.
6. While the dip is chilling, drizzle the baguette slices with some olive oil and sprinkle with Italian seasoning.
7. Warm slightly in the oven.
8. Add the lettuce and tomatoes to the dip just before serving with the bread slices.
9. Provide a spreading knife to spread onto bread.
