Hershey's Syrup Cake

A lady on a local radio call-in show got talking about this cake one day and the station was swamped with request for the recipe. It sounded good to me too so I also requested it and thought I'd share it here.
Ingredients:
1/2 cup margarine or 1/2 cup butter
1 cup sugar
4 eggs
1 cup flour
1 teaspoon baking powder
1/4 teaspoon salt
1 (16 ounce) can hershey chocolate syrup
1/2 cup margarine or 1/2 cup butter
1 cup sugar
1/3 cup milk
1/2 cup chocolate chips
Directions:
1. For cake: Cream margarine and sugar; then add eggs one at a time and beat well, after each.
2. Sift dry ingredients and add to above mixture.
3. Add syrup and bake at 350 degrees for 50 minutes in 13x9 inch pan.
4. Do not over bake.
5. Ice while hot.
6. For icing: Boil margarine, milk and sugar together for two to three minutes.
7. Add chocolate chips, beat until smooth.
8. Pour on cake.
