Easy to make and keep well in a sealed container. Ingredients:
3/4 cup butter or 3/4 cup margarine, softened |
1/2 cup cheddar cheese, shredded or grated |
1/3 cup blue cheese, crumbled |
1 tablespoon fresh tarragon, minced or 1 teaspoon dried tarragon |
1/2 teaspoon dried oregano |
1 clove garlic, minced |
2 cups white flour or 2 cups whole wheat flour (or half of each) |
Directions:
1. Beat butter, cheeses, tarragon, oregano and garlic until well mixed. 2. Beat in flour (dough will be crumbly). 3. Shape into 2 or 3 rolls, whatever is manageable to handle, and wrap tightly with plastic wrap. 4. Refrigerate for 4 hours or overnight. 5. (I've taken them out after as little as 1& 1/2 hours& they turned out fine.). 6. Cut into thin (1/8 ) slices; place on ungreased cookie sheet (parchment paper optional). 7. Bake at 375F for 10-12 minutes or until golden brown. |
