Tasty dumplings made with common kitchen staples. Great for soups and stews.
Ingredients:
1 1/2 c. flour
1 tsp. salt
1 tsp. baking soda
2 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. dried thyme*- (you may use 2 tsp. ital. seasoning for these 3 ingredients)
1 tsp. dried parsley
1 tsp. dried oregano
3 tbsp. butter
3/4 c. milk
Directions:
1. Combine dry ingredients in bowl and mix
2. Cut in butter until you have course crumbs
3. Gradually add milk using enough to form a thick batter
4. Drop by spoonfuls into soup. Cover and simmer 10 min.'s, remove cover and cook an additional 10 min.'s
