I modeled this recipe after the bread dip they serve at Carrabba's. We went there for dinner last week, and my favorite part of the meal was the bread and this dip mix they gave as an appetizer! If you like dipping your bread in olive oil, then you will love the fresh herbs as an addition! Read more !
Ingredients:
these are all approximate...use more or less based on your taste. i used fresh herbs (because i had them), but i'm sure dried herbs would be just as delicious
all herbs should be finely chopped.
1/2 teaspoon crushed red pepper
1/2 teaspoon ground black pepper
1 teaspoon oregano
1 teaspoon rosemary
1 teaspoon basil (i used lemon basil...made it extra tangy!)
1 teaspoon parsley
1 teaspoon garlic powder
1 teaspoon minced fresh garlic
1/2 teaspoon salt (i think the restaurant used more)
1/4 cup extra virgin olive oil (or as needed)
bread for dipping
Directions:
1. Combine all ingredients EXCEPT oil, into a bowl.
2. Mix together till it looks nicely blended.
3. To serve, scoop whatever amount you'd like onto a dipping dish or plate.
4. Pour your desired amount of olive oil over the top of this mixture.
5. Dip your bread.
6. Eat.
7. Enjoy!
8. I used individual bread dipping dishes so that everyone could use as much or as little of the dip and oil as they wanted...and double dip with no fear of embarrassment!
