Several years ago, a naturopath gave me this recipe. It's worked really well as a full breakfast meal. If you don't like the Indian-style spices, you could reduce, replace, or eliminate the tumeric, fennel, and coriander. But personally, I like this recipe in part because it's nowhere near a normal sweet breakfast cereal.
Ingredients:
2 cups rolled oats
1 cup rolled barley
1 cup rye flakes
1/2 cup ground flax seeds (flax seed meal)
1/2 cup soy lecithin
1 teaspoon turmeric
1 teaspoon fennel seed
1 teaspoon ground coriander
1 cup slivered almonds
1 cup raisins
Directions:
1. Mix all ingredients together.
2. Add dairy, soy, or rice milk to each serving accordingly.
