Ingredients:

  • 1 1/2 lbs lean ground beef
  • 1/2 cup celery, diced
  • 1/4 cup rice
  • 1 (28 oz) can stewed tomatoes
  • 1 small bay leaf
  • 1/2 tsp thyme
  • 1/4 tsp basil
  • 1 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp pepper
  • 1 1/2 quarts water

Directions:

  1. Sauté ground beef and onion until brown; drain.
  2. Add other ingredients.
  3. Bring to a boil.
  4. Reduce heat and simmer at least 1 hour.
