Hamburger/hot Dog Buns Recipe

Hamburger/hot Dog Buns

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup water
  • 1 egg
  • 3/4 tsp salt
  • 1/4 cup shortening
  • 1/4 cup sugar or honey
  • 3 tsp yeast
  • 1 tbsp vital wheat gluten (optional)

Directions:

  1. Place all ingrdients in the bread pan per manufacturs instructions
  2. For Hamburger Buns:
  3. Choose dough setting and press start.
  4. When bread machine beeps signaling the end of the dough setting, remove dough from pan and place on a floured surface. Divide dough into 8 equal portions and roll into balls.
  5. Transfer dough balls to a 9x13 greased baking sheet.
  6. Baste dough with butter and let rise until doubled in size.
  7. Bake for 10-12 min at 400 degrees. Keep your eye on them, some times they can cook really fast.
  8. For Hot Dog Buns:
  9. Choose dough setting and press start.
  10. When bread machine beeps signaling the end of the dough setting, remove dough from pan and place on a floured surface. Divide dough into 12 equal portions and roll into 10 - 12 inch ropes. Fold ropes in half so you have a bun shape that would fit a hot dog.
  11. Transfer buns to a 9x13 greased baking sheet.
  12. Bast dough with butter and let rise until doubled in size.
  13. Bake for 10-12 min at 400 degrees. Keep your eye on them, some times they can cook really fast.
