Hamburger Beef Stew

Beef stew made with coarse lean ground beef, instead of stew meat.
Ingredients:
1 pound ground beef
2 pints canned tomatoes
2 cups potatoes - diced
2 stalks celery - sliced
1/2 cup carrots - sliced
1/2 large onion - diced
1 tsp salt
1 pint water
Directions:
1. Use a heavy bottom sauce pan. Three quart size is good.
2. Brown the meat.
3. Drain well to get as much of the nasty fat off as you can. Wipe out the pan to get the fat out of it.
4. Return the meat to the pan.
5. Add the remaining ingredients.
6. Bring to a boil.
7. Cover and simmer for 30 - 45 minutes until the potatoes and carrots are done.
8. Enjoy this comfort food on a cold day with a slice of cornbread!
