In honor of president's day I made a quiche for a small brunch my wife and I threw since I had the day off. A few people commented on my quiche so I have decided to put it out there.
Ingredients:
1 prepared pie crust
4 eggs, room temperature
1 1/2 cups 2% low-fat milk, warm
1 1/2 tablespoons of melted butter
1 cup shredded sharp cheddar cheese
1 cup of diced ham
2 teaspoons cracked black pepper
1 teaspoon sea salt
1 dash paprika
1/2 teaspoon herbes de provence
1 dash of good onion powder
Directions:
1. Preheat oven to 400°. Place pie crust in pie pan evenly and press into corners. Prick bottom with a fork several times, especially in corners.
2. Bake pie crust for 8 minutes in oven, and remove. Lower temperature to 375°.
3. Meanwhile break eggs in separate container to make sure that all eggs are okay. Place in medium to large bowl. Add milk and butter. Add seasonings. You can add what you like. Beat with wire whip until fluffy.
4. Place shredded cheese and ham on crust evenly.
5. At this point I did microwave the egg mixture for 1 minute at half power to get the mixture warmer to help the custard set faster. I know the culinary gods are shunning me but it worked.
6. Pour eggs in pie shell.
7. Cook for 25-30 minutes until eggs are set. Enjoy!
